From October 23 – November 20, The University of South Carolina and Clemson University participated in the third annual Palmetto Series Food Drive benefiting Harvest Hope Food Bank and Golden Harvest Food Bank. With the collection of 34,693 pounds of canned food items, 152,906 meals will be provided to those in need in South Carolina through the combined efforts of both schools.

The Gamecocks take the honor this year, with 23,407 pounds donated and $15,793.78 raised. USC’s efforts will provide 96,974 meals.  Clemson’s efforts resulted in 55,931.54 meals, with $9,450 raised, and 11,286 pounds donated.

This is a tremendous off-the-field victory for both schools and the community. A special thanks to the students, fans and friends who participated and helped tackle hunger in the Palmetto state.
